Atherton International School (AIS)
After gaining final approval from the MOE, as of 1st June this international school has changed ownership from DSME to the Deokbu Foundation. To herald this new beginning for the school, the name has been changed. With a new board of Directors they will be moving forwards to market the school globally, with plans to open a world-class boarding facility, whilst retaining the core values and ethos of the passionate learning community that made the school such a unique and successful school over the previous nine years.
The school has a purpose built campus with excellent facilities for learning. They are fortunate to benefit from large open aspect sports grounds including a basketball court, football pitch and athletics track. They have an outdoor adventure play area, allotment, forest and garden areas. All classrooms are well resourced with IT, fully equipped science laboratories, technology rooms to support learning in construction, food, textile and electrical technology. They also have an indoor gymnasium and self contained Early Years Centre.
The school is fully accredited to teach the Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge International Certificates of General Education (IGCSEs) and Cambridge Advanced and Advanced Subsidiary Levels (A-levels and AS levels).
