TIC Weekly Blog - 11th September 2012
Welcome to the TIC weekly blog. To coincide with the launch of the new website, we have launched this blog to keep everyone up to date on the latest news at TIC. There will be updates on the team, the teachers and schools we work with, and anything else that we think might interest you!
Teachers International Consultancy a leading voice on recruitment
Andrew Wigford, TIC Director, was pleased to be involved in an article in the Financial Times magazine FDi Intelligence last month. The feature detailed the rapid growth of the international and private education sector, and included an interview with Andrew offering a professional insight on recruitment. On the importance between high quality teachers and supportive schools, Andrew said:
"New schools and those that are expanding cannot resort to filling spaces with inexperienced or poorly trained teachers. They have to keep standards high and to do that they need to offer packages that appeal. Career growth opportunities, formalised professional development, living and travel benefits, location and also the reputation of the school all play a major part in the decision-making process for a candidate.”

Congratulations to Florian Baciu
We like to stay in contact with all the teachers we place and were thrilled to hear that one of our TIC alumni, Florian Ciprian Baciu, has taken up an exciting new placement. Florian has recently become Director of Studies at Hiroshima International School, an opportunity that truly shows how international education combines career development with travel! Florian was teaching in Appleton, Wisconsin before TIC helped him to find a teaching job at the International Academy in Amman, Jordan for his first international teaching role. We're all very happy to see that Florian has managed to do so well, and are very proud that we could help him start such an exciting and international journey.
