TIC Blog - 13th March 2014
Welcome to the TIC Blog! This week, Andrew and Jo have travelled to Kazakhstan to visit our teachers in the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
At TIC, we ensure that every school we work with is the highest quality for our teachers. This is why TIC Director Andrew Wigford spends as much time sleeping on an airplane seat as in his own bed!
This week, Andrew travelled to Kazakhstan with Recruitment Consultant Jo Hattam to visit the brilliant Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. First stop was the Kazakh capital of Astana to meet the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) Human Resources team, who are responsible for hiring every teacher in the 15 NIS schools across the country!
The next day, Andrew and Jo travelled three hours out of Astana to the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kokshetau. As well as meeting with the senior leadership team at the school, this was a fantastic opportunity to visit the five teachers currently working there who have been placed by TIC, all of who are very happy and looking forward to renewing their contracts!
After Kokshetau, it was back to Astana to visit NIS in the capital. The facilities are fantastic there and it was another chance to visit TIC-placed teachers. The teachers told Andrew and Jo that they’re very happy about their living conditions, and it was noted by several of them that their salary goes far living in Astana!
However, it wasn't all business for Andrew and Jo! Before leaving, they had a chance to visit the famous Astana shopping centre: Khan Shatyr. The two were amazed by the scale and selection available, with a variety of international stores like Next, Zara, Svarowski and Monsoon!
There will be interviews with our teachers in Kazakhstan on YouTube soon, so keep an eye out on the TIC Blog.
