Please note that the age restriction is related to the retirement age for government teachers in Brunei and we therefore have to decline applications from secondary teachers who would be 55 years old on arrival in Brunei, and primary teachers who would be 52 years. Happily though, once in service, CfBT teachers may work beyond this age, if they continue to meet required performance standards.

Brunei is a great place to live and work. Many teachers come to Brunei and fall in love with the place. Students are great, workload is reasonable, teachers are treated with respect and the country has a great standard of living … What’s not to like!
Salaries are generous and tax free making Brunei one of the world’s best paying teaching opportunities. Teachers also enjoy free or heavily subsidised spacious furnished accommodation, return airfares and baggage allowance, annual flight allowances, heavily subsidised private education in Brunei at schools approved by CfBT (ages 5-18)* for up to 2 children or 3 children for teaching couples, allowances for accompanying spouse and up to two children until they start primary school, free in-service Cambridge ICELT course, Malay language training, access to Education Centres with libraries, teaching resources and computer/internet facilities, professional, administrative, housing and welfare support, an interest-free car loan, a subsidised private group health insurance scheme and a generous settling in allowance.
