TBS Kathmandu's rebuilding projects nearing completion

Since May 2015, TIC Recruitment has been fundraising for The British School Kathmandu Nepal earthquake charity appeal. Here is the latest news from the Nepal capital:

It’s been almost a year since the first earthquake on the 25th April 2015. In that time, TBS Kathmandu has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to rebuild local schools destroyed during the quakes.

The first school has now opened. Sungava is a day school located in the Kathmandu valley. The school focuses on rehabilitation and the training of basic life skills for young girls with learning difficulties, especially Down’s Syndrome. The new building has five classrooms, a staff room and an open plan communal area.

The new school buildings that are being constructed in Dhading are progressing on time. Construction on the second storey is well under way, with completion expected to be in the next couple of months.

At one of the schools, TBS Kathmandu has been able to purchase more land to allow the students to have a bigger play area. This is something that the community has been asking for since TBS Kathmandu has been working with them, so they are very excited at the prospect of more space.
