TIC Blog – News of our Qatar appointment

Teachers International Consultancy has appointed a representative on the ground in Doha to support the growing number of expatriate teachers it is sending to Qatar.

Previously an expat teacher herself in the Middle East, Hailey Fazekas has joined TIC Recruitment to provide expert help and advice to new and established expat teachers working in the country. “The expatriate teaching community in Qatar is huge,” says Andrew Wigford, Managing Director of Teachers International Consultancy. “When you are new to a country that you’re going to be living and working in, it can be daunting at times. Having someone like Hailey, who has lived and worked there for several years and knows exactly what these teachers will be going through, can be a crucial source of reassurance as well as information. It also provides an important resource for the schools who now know that there’s counselling and advice beyond the immediate needs of the school community to support their new recruits. ”

For the past two years Hailey has managed Leading Out, a support and recruitment company for Canadian expatriate teachers. Previously she was a teacher at the Qatar Foundation. She has lived in Qatar since 2009.

Teachers International Consultancy provides a recruitment, placement and advisory service for qualified English-speaking teachers from all over the world who are searching for jobs in international schools. This is a free service for the growing number of teachers who are looking beyond their home country to expand their teaching experience and skills. “I wanted to teach and develop as a teacher, I wanted new professional opportunities, to earn more money and have more job potential. I wanted to travel and to benefit from working with people from many countries. International teaching has been an amazing experience. I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life,” says Anna Coquelin a modern languages teacher from Scotland who moved from the UK in 2008 to teach in the Middle East. “I felt very secure knowing that I had an expert organisation helping me through this rather than doing it alone,” she adds.

Anna is one of 315,000 teachers currently working in international schools around the world. Over 100,000 of these are teachers from the United Kingdom. Right now the Middle East is the most popular region for international schools with 128 in Qatar alone, 122 of which are in Doha.

Teachers International Consultancy is one of the leading specialist international school recruitment companies in the world. For more information visit http://www.ticrecruitment.com
